Hi, i’m ellie

I want to begin by sharing the heart and mission behind Homegrown Tutoring. Skip to the next section to see my credentials and experience.

There is a lot to a name. The name Homegrown Tutoring came from the desire to grow the students here in my hometown. I have found that I love to meet local students where they are at, so I can help them grow into the student, peer, friend, and young woman or man they aspire to become.

Though tutoring is an exceptional resource for students struggling in their studies, tutoring has potential to have impact beyond that of homework help and test prep. Tutoring can be the mentor- relationship that the student needs to cultivate confidence in their academic abilities. Sometimes, students really just need a space where they feel safe to fail at something, so they can learn what they actually need to succeed.

I am extremely grateful for our local teachers and school system. They do an incredible job serving our community. Homegrown Tutoring aims to provide the supplemental support and personal relationship that the school system doesn’t have the bandwidth for. I want to support what students are already learning at school (or at home), so they have various channels of instruction and guidance.

I look forward to working with your family.
